Coral Gables
Coral Gables is a pedestrian – friendly city that offers loads of restaurants and gourmet shops, as well as many notable international retail stores. Coral Gables landmarks include Venetian Pool, and the Biltmore Hotel. It has an “old world” feel. The city is also the home to the University of Miami.
Coral Gables was developed by George Edgar Merrick during the Florida land boom of the 1920’s. It was one of the first planned communities and homeowners association. It is well known for its strict zoning regulations for its residents. There are many fine homes that are of the Mediterranean Revival Style. Its location is approximately four miles from Miami International Airport. It is a prospering city in Miami-Dade County.
